Questions, answered
Do you upload my photos?
No. DejaWhere reads the time and place stored inside each photo, on your phone. Only the places and times it works out are saved, encrypted. A photo leaves your phone only if you pick it yourself, to share on a moment or to print.
Can someone see where I am right now?
No. DejaWhere is about the past, never today. Nobody can look you up or follow you, and nothing is compared until you both say yes.
What if we never crossed paths?
Then we'll tell you honestly. You'll often still find echoes, places you both loved at different times, or neighborhoods you shared. As more of your years arrive, you can check again together.
How sure are you?
It depends on what you add. Every moment says how sure we are and shows the evidence behind it. We say “crossed paths” or “were nearby” and never pretend more than we know.
Does it cost anything?
Building your timeline, your Life Map and seeing where you crossed paths are free. DejaWhere Plus adds more, like your full history and Your Year for every year.
Can I delete everything?
Yes, any time, from inside the app. We destroy the key that unlocks your data, so it can't be read again.
